Location clustering simplifies the display of store locations on a map by grouping nearby markers into a single cluster. This approach helps avoid marker overcrowding, especially in densely populated areas with multiple stores. Clusters are represented by a circular icon, indicating the number of stores within that cluster. As users zoom in, the clusters break down into individual markers, allowing for precise location selection.
To enable location clustering for your store locator, follow these steps:
Navigate to Marker Settings:
In the store locator app, go to the "Settings" menu and select "Markers".
Activate Grouping Locations:
Find the "Grouping locations" option and choose "Enable" to turn on location clustering.
Customize Cluster Circle Color:
You can personalize the appearance of your clusters by specifying a "Cluster circle color." Use the color picker or enter a hex code (e.g., #6ECC39) to match your brand's color scheme.
Set Grouping Deactivation Zoom Level:
The "Grouping deactivation zoom level" determines at which zoom level the clusters will separate into individual markers. This can be set based on your preference or the density of your store locations. A common setting is around "12," but you can adjust this to fit your map's specific needs.
Save Your Changes:
Ensure all your configurations are saved before exiting the settings menu to apply the clustering feature to your store locator.
Enhanced Map Clarity: Reduces the clutter of closely spaced markers, making it easier for users to interact with the map.
Improved User Experience: Simplifies the process of finding locations on the map, particularly in areas with high store density.
Scalable for Numerous Locations: Efficiently manages and displays an extensive list of store locations without overwhelming the map view.
If you decide that location clustering does not suit your needs, you can easily disable this feature by selecting "Disable" under the "Grouping locations" option in the marker settings. This action will revert the map to display individual markers for each location, regardless of their proximity to each other.
